 How laser tattoo removal works
Laser tattoo removal works by focusing laser energy to break up the pigment/color in your tattoo. Our Astanza Trinity laser is a Q-switched combination Nd:YAG and Ruby laser used exclusively for tattoo removal – making it the very best laser to use for your procedure.
New Look Laser College offers training on lasers that can remove a wide range of colors in tattoos. Most lasers use two separate wavelengths of light to remove darker (black, purple, blue, brown) and lighter (red, green, yellow, orange) tattoo pigment. The Astanza Trinity offers a third wavelength with a full Joule of energy with the ability to remove green and blue tattoos. The laser needs only a fraction of a second to break down the pigment allowing your treatment to be completed in only a short time. Tattoo removal lasers do not penetrate the deeper layers of skin and use an extremely short pulse, making scarring very rare and enabling quick healing.
An average tattoo takes 3 to 10 treatments to remove completely. The number of treatments depends on the age, color, quality of ink, and technique used to create the tattoo (professional vs. homemade).

 Minimal side effects
Laser tattoo removal is the safest and easiest way to remove an unwanted tattoo. With today’s technology, we are able to precisely target the ink in your tattoo with minimal side effects. The laser energy gently passes through the outermost layer of skin until it reach your tattoo’s pigment, and leaves the lower layers untouched. The skin is very rarely broken, so even pinpoint bleeding is uncommon.
Patients experience redness and some slight swelling in addition to blisters as the area heals after a tattoo removal procedure. For patient's comfort, during the procedure we use a high-tech cooling system to numb the skin prior to the tattoo removal procedure.
Many patients are familiar with laser hair removal – tattoo removal lasers do not need to penetrate as deeply into the skin and procedures are less painful and much shorter in duration.
